Coughing up a Lung

Picture this, I'm minding my own business being a wonderful older sister by dropping my brother off at sixth form. Was about to go for a long run along the coast when I get a call... My brother has tested positive for Covid-19. How marvellous.
We all got tested and luckily we were all negative apart from the 'walking germ'.
Hello isolation, how are ya?
I locked myself in my room for 10 days, getting my major project work done and making sure I don't catch it off him. This was almost a blessing because I was falling behind a little bit on my University work and general self care so I took this time to get back on track.
Isolation ends on the Sunday so was looking forward to starting a new week as a free woman. Went for that long run on the Monday evening when I started to get a tickle in my throat and a little bit of a runny nose. Just thinking it is a cold as they said in 2020 that a runny nose is not a symptom, I went to bed oblivious. Woke up with it getting worse so I took an at home test.... Positive.
The only time I seen him was when I dropped him off at school so it must have been at a very contagious stage unfortunately. Yet another 10 days stuck inside. This time I had lost all motivation due to my anger and frustration.
The next two weeks were hell, not being able to talk because my breathing was so bad. My friends were calling me which was lovely but I couldn't stay on the phone for long because of this.
Clearly wasn't as healthy as I thought I was but hay ho I'm here to tell the tale... Whoop whoop I beat Covid's ass.
Much love,
Abs x
